[edit] Playing career

Fox learnt his trade at the Everton youth academy but the closest he came to a first-team appearance was as an 18-year-old being named on the bench for Everton's home match against Aston Villa in October 2004. He was loaned out to Stranraer where he played 11 games before his eventual release from Everton in the summer of 2005. Walsall moved quickly to snap-up Fox, where he made over 100 appearances in all competitions.

Fox had been linked with a move to Leeds United in the January 2008 transfer window. Leeds reportedly had bid of up to £300,000 (including clauses) turned-down by Walsall[1]. However, Coventry City then agreed a fee with Walsall as Fox wished to move up a league, and he joined the Sky Blues on Monday 28 January 2008 in a double transfer deal (with his defensive partner Scott Dann also moving to the Ricoh Arena only 72 hours later), after agreeing personal terms and a passing a medical.

[edit] International career

Fox was selected for the England under-21 match against Poland under-21 on march 25th and made and was chosen for the top 11.
