Daniel Flynn is an English actor born in 1961 in Evesham, Worcestershire but moved to Bromley, Kent as a baby. He is the son of actor Eric Flynn and the brother of actor Jerome Flynn. He has a half-brother and sister from his father's second marriage; Johnny Flynn is an actor and sings with the band 'Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit', and Lillie Flynn, who also sings in the band, finished a three year acting degree at the central school of speech and drama in summer 2007. He is married to actress Serena Evans and they have two children together. He is, also, said to be a descendent of Oliver Cromwell on his maternal side, through Cromwell's son Henry Cromwell.

Flynn has been acting on TV since 1983 and is best known for playing the role of Superintendent John Heaton in the long-running ITV1 police drama The Bill. He joined the show in the summer of 2006, but had a brief part playing a criminal in the episode "The Assassins" on 20 December 1988.

Flynn has also lent his voice to Manga Entertainment in the 90's for anime such as The Dark Myth and Cyber City Oedo 808.

Daniel's other TV credits include Goodbye Mr Chips, The Detectives, The Peter Principle, Soldier Soldier, Peak Practice, Murder in Mind, William and Mary, Afterlife and Island at War.

He also starred as 'Ginger' in the motion picture Biggles: Adventures in time.
