Daniel Fitzgerald is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours. Actor Brett Tucker originated the role from 1999 to 2000, and returned to Australian screens on 2007 October 30.

Daniel was a teacher at Erinsborough High School and briefly lived with colleague Tess Bell (Krista Vendy) at Number 32 Ramsay Street in 2000. He also had a crush on Steph Scully (Carla Bonner).

He recently has become a counselor at the school and on the advice of departing colleague Pepper Steiger (Nicky Whelan) he has been helping student Ringo Brown (Sam Clark) with his eating disorder.

It was reported in TV Week magazine that Daniel will begin a relationship with Libby Kennedy (Kym Valentine)[1] The surprise arrival in Ramsay Street of Dan's wife Sam is set to shake up his budding relationship with Libby. It turned out that Sam has bi-polar disorder. She has now got it under control. He and Sam were going to file for divorce but they decided to give their marriage another go.
