A Brazilian by birth and one of the founders of Cyclades Corporation, a privately-held company based in Fremont, CA which makes Linux-based servers, switches, and network management appliances.
In January, 2006, he was named 2005 Person of the Year by ITWeek Magazine. The article talks about his 1991 dream to establish a successful tech company. With John Lima by his side, his company, Cyclades, became the first hardware company in the world to use the Linux operating system in a commercial environment. Daniel Dalarossa and John Lima sold Cyclades Corporation to Avocent in 2006. Since then, Dalarossa has occupied himself with a new company, Choro Music, which has the primary purpose of spreading the Brazilian Chorinho internationally.
