Daniel Burling

Daniel J. Burling (b. 1947) represents District 147 in the New York State Assembly, which is comprised of a number of communities located in Upstate New York, including Allegany County, New York, Genesee County, New York Livingston County, New York and Wyoming County, New York.

Elected to the New York Assembly in 1998, he is the current Vice-Chairman of the Assembly Minority Conference.

A registered pharmacist, Burling's previous occupations included the operation of a drug store from 1987-1996 and a different one from 1991 until the present.

A member of the United States Marine Corps from 1965-1969-he served in Vietnam, where he earned numerous medals for valorous conduct-he is very active in veterans' causes, including the American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America.
