Daniel Bowen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daniel Bowen is a Melbourne resident best known as the author of the Diary of an Average Australian, one of the first blogs to appear on the World Wide Web.[citation needed] Bowen has published this blog continuously since 1996. His other web articles include Toxic Custard, sent weekly to a mailing list and posted to Usenet group rec.humor (under the title "Toxic Custard Workshop Files") since August 1990. TCWF started out as a humour journal covering and parodying subjects such as religion, science fiction, history and technology; however, over the years it has gradually changed into a diary, and today is mostly a compilation of the passing week's blog posts.

He is also known as a prominent lobbyist for improved public transport in his capacity as President of the Public Transport Users Association, a position he has held since 2003. He is a frequent media commentator on public transport issues.
