Daniel Bălan (born September 18, 1979) is a Romanian soccer defender who currently plays for Alki Larnaca. Prior to joining Steaua, Bălan also played for Bucovina Suceava, Foresta II Fălticeni, and as loan to FC Vaslui and AC Omonia.
In 2002 he suffered a very serious injury, something similar with the one Marco van Basten had and was not able to play football for a period of two years.
