Dane Court Grammar School, more commonly known as Dane Court or D.C, is a mixed-sex Grammar School in Broadstairs, Thanet, in Kent, UK with just under 1,200 students. The current Headteacher is Mr P.J.Luxmoore. Dane Court recently earned the status of specialist Language College meaning that the school gets a government grant for language facilities in school, attempting to improve the taught foreign languages of German, French and Italian. The school celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2007 as the mixed-sex school was officially founded in 1957. The school has three buildings, the east wing, the west wing and the central block. There are also two cafeterias, a large playing field and some tennis courts.

[edit] Building Schools for the Future

As part of the national 'Building Schools for the Future' initiative, in the next decade plans have been made to completely refurbish and extend the school in the £20 million building programme. This construction is expected to begin this year, in which one block will be demolished, another refurbished, and another built on the 'flag grounds'.
