Dancing Turtle Records is a London-based independent record label set up in 2005, with the aim of releasing cutting edge music from emerging artists around the world. Their releases have a strong leaning towards the genres of folk, electronica, indie and world music.
The label has developed a number of artists from Europe, and as far afield as Zambia, West Papua, Japan and Brazil, under the banner "music acts without prejudice". They also act as a not-for-profit organisation, with label profits given to charitable causes. Some of the labels releases and music events they host are reflected in this ideology too, raising funds and awareness for good causes.
