[edit] Biography

Dusty Sparkles and Buck Rothy met in Quincy, Illinois in the mid '90s. Dusty was allegedly trying to get Buck's older brother to try LSD and met Buck. They discovered each others love for music and began to collaborate. Two unreleased projects came out of this time. Jack Mahoney and His Buddy System, a rock group with a nod to ragtime and Pyoung Shim Moyim, an outsider music project. They parted ways in their late teens. Dusty moved to Chicago, Illinois and Buck to Carbondale, Illinois.

In 2003 they reunited, moving to Portland, Oregon.[2] Buck had started a group, Princess Sweepstakes, along with Dell Blackwell. The entire band also had moved with him, though breaking up shortly after. The three met Rosy Cross and decided to form Danava. They went on tour with Glass Candy shortly after releasing their first demo.

Rosy was later replaced by Rockwell. The band released a one-sided 12" EP featuring an extended version of "Quiet Babies Astray in a Manger" in 2006 on Kemado Records. Later that same year they released their self-titled album, Danava. In the fall of 2006 they toured with Witchcraft during Witchcraft's first US tour. They released a 7" single, "Where Beauty & Terror Dance," in the fall of 2007. The video is currently airing on MTV2's Headbangers Ball. The album UnonoU was released in early February 2008 and was followed by a US tour with Acid Mothers Temple[3] and a tour of Ireland and the UK with Witchcraft and Gentleman's Pistols. They also played the 2008 Roadburn festival in the Netherlands.
