Dan the Music Man is the stage name for Toronto-based independent children's recording artist Dan Devion. Devion was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba in 1958, grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, and moved with his family to Toronto, Ontario at the age of 12. Devion started playing the guitar at age 14, and early in his musical career played for local Toronto bands including Avenue Road.
In the early 1990's, Devion began performing children's music as a solo-artist. In 1996 he released his first album as Dan the Music Man entitled Make a Bridge.
Dan the Music Man's songs have national airplay in Canada on Corus Entertainment's digital music channel for children, Max Trax Treehouse.
