Dan Sweetman

Daniel Jonathan Sweetman (born 7 May 1985) is the co-host for Network Ten's national cartoon show Toasted TV. His father, John, works as a church pastor while his mother, Debbie, is a piano teacher. He also has two younger siblings, Alex and Zac.

Sweetman has been playing instruments since the 3rd grade specializing in guitar, piano, and saxophone and recently performed at the 2007 Australian Gospel Music Festival in Toowoomba, Queensland. Among his major influences are Dashboard Confessional, Coldplay, Bob Evans, Evermore, Ben Lee, Panic! at the Disco, Bernard Fanning, Ray Charles, The Veronicas, Mozart, Billy Ray Cyrus and Relient K. Before Applying for a job at Toasted TV, Sweetman tried to make a career as a muscisian. After many failed attempts, he finally made a break through in in 2004, when he was a supporting act for the John Butler Trio. All though he was innitially booed off stage, he had a parent of a child come up to him and tell him her child thoroughly enjoyed his work. "It was then I realised I want to be working in the child entertainment Industry", Sweetman says, "All though my music career may be postponed at this point, I would like to think I can make my way back in the near future".

Sweetman has oftenly stepped up to talk about Bullying, "Of course I was Bullied in school!" Sweetman says, "I was often teased about my height and last name". Sweetman claims while he was young he was often chased home by bullies and was literally locked in his own house."It was horrifying, I dont think anyone ever deserves to be treated this way!" When asked if he had anything to say to those bullies he replied, "Say sorry."

Sweetman is currently studying at the Queensland University of Technology combining a Bachelor of Creative Industries in Drama and English with a Bachelor of Education. Sweetman is an active Christian and has extensive experience in church youth groups.
