Dan Sheldon (born May 23, 1982) is an American football player who was signed on September 19, 2006 to the Chicago Bears practice squad. On September 27, he was released from the practice squad. Sheldon is a punt and kick returner who excels in the open field. Although undrafted, Sheldon has been cut by several teams, including the Colts and the Cardinals, but never gave up in his dream of becoming a professional football player. In April of 2008 Sheldon signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL.

At Central High School in Burlington, Illinois, Sheldon was a running back and was very successful. He broke many rushing records for the school. He was later recruited by Northern Illinois.
