Dan Segal

Daniel Segal is a British mathematician, currently a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford. He specialises in algebra and group theory.

He originally studied at the University of Cambridge, before taking a PhD at the University of London in 1972, supervised by Bertram Wehrfritz, with a dissertation on group theory.[1] He is currently a Fellow of All Souls College at Oxford, where he is sub-warden.[2]

His postgraduate students have included Marcus du Sautoy and Geoff Smith.
