Dan Radakovich is the Athletics Director at Georgia Tech. He has held that position since February 22, 2006, beating out former Tech player and head coach Bill Curry and former Tech baseball and football player and baseball assistant coach Cam Bonifay for the job.[2][3][4] Radakovich has a long background in dealing with program finance, as well as large scale renovation and facility improvement. Over the course of his career, Radakovich has managed over a quarter of a billion dollars for various University's athletic departments.
Radakovich, a Serbian American, hails from Monaca, PA where he attended Center High School, just outside of Aliquippa, PA. Amongst his academic accomplishments is a master's degree in business adminstration from the University of Miami in 1982. Dan is a second cousin of former NFL offensive line coach, Dan "Bad Rad" Radakovich.[citation needed]
Radakovich is rumored to be a leading candidate to become athletics director at Louisiana State University when Skip Bertman retires at the end of the 2007-08 athletic season. Radakovich served as Senior Associate Athletics Director, the number two position at LSU, from 2000 until his hiring at Georgia Tech, and was widely believed to be Bertman's hand-picked successor.[citation needed]
