Dan Knott Junior High is a middle school in Edmonton, Alberta in the Knottwood community. The school is highly respected by the city of Edmonton for its focus on academics and learning. Todays Parent Magazine named it in the top 40 schools in Canada in the rising to the challenge section.[1]
The school is well know for its leadership program, Dragonfire, and its grade 8 counterpart, Dragonflame. The school is also known for its pre-advanced placement program in all grades. The school's Provincial Achievement Test results have consistently placed above the provincial average. Dan Knott is named after former Edmonton mayor Dan Knott, who was also the first principal of the school.
