[edit] Radio career

Dan began his radio career at Ohio University's WOUB AM radio station, often broadcasting local events and sports news. In the spring of 2005, Dan was given an internship in the news department of WATH. In only a few short months, the station promoted him to the position of sports director.

At WXTQ he ran a nightly sports call-in talk show The Sportsfan. In addition to the show, he also broadcasted play-by-play and color analysis for many local teams including Ohio University hockey, basketball and baseball, the Southeast Ohio Copperheads minor league baseball team and numerous local high schools.

He frequently uses obscure historical and pop culture references to emphasize points. In addition, he references his alter ego "Dave Tabbs" to create a fictional third party. Dan is more relevant, however, as the answer to a trivia question as he is the only broadcaster to ever break his nose during a play-by-play broadcast.

Occasionally Dan fills in for other DJs on the FM station, WXTQ. Dan uses the radio name "Thunder Dan" and specializes in many retro hits, particularly songs from the 1970s and 1980s.
