Daniel 'Dan' Foster - aka The Big Dog - is an American-born radio presenter based in Lagos, Nigeria.[1] Foster was brought up in Washington by his widowed father - his mother died when he was ten - but was partly raised by his grandmother who lived in Baltimore.[citation needed] As a teenager, Foster was a rebelious young man - he was once caught stealing from a clothes store. He attened Morgan State University, Baltimore, where he graduated in Broardcasting and Drama.
After working for several radio stations in his home country including Mix 106.5 FM and a stint with the marines, he joined Cool FM Nigeria in 2000, and since then he has been a favourite with Nigerian listeners.[1]
In 2001, Foster featured in the Nollywood movie Face of a Liar. A year later, he received an award for Best Radio Presenter of the year.[citation needed] He won the 2003, 2004, and 2005 Nigeria Media Merit Awards for 'Best Radio Personality'.[1] Foster was a judge on reality talent show Idols West Africa, although he received some criticism for not showing up at the Ghana auditions.
Foster is divorced with a son, Joshua.
