Dan Duţescu

Dan Duţescu (b. 21th October 1918; d. 26th September 1992) was a professor of English language and literature at the University of Bucharest, Romania, and a member of the Romanian Writers' Union.

He studied amongst others at the Universities of London and Cambridge. His main work is "Limba engleză fără profesor", (Leaning English Without a Teacher) published in several editions, it being one of the most widely used English language books used by Romanians.

He is the father of Taina Duţescu-Coliban, a famous Romanian linguist and mountain climber who went missing while trying to climb Mt. Dhaulaghiri.
