[edit] Butt Trumpet

Dan had a brief stint with the Chrysalis/EMI punk band Butt Trumpet in 1995. He abruptly quit the band onstage at a New York City concert. Dan appears in Butt Trumpet's video "I'm Ugly And I Don't Know Why."

[edit] Queens of the Stone Age

Dan Druff started working with QOTSA on their 2000 "Rated R" album. In early 2005, Queens bassist Nick Oliveri left due to personal differences with Queen's frontman Josh Homme, and was replaced with Druff, who performed with the band through their "Lullabies to Paralyze" ("Europa") Promo Tour.

Dan commented on the rift in an interview with MusicOMH's Talia Soghomonian in March 2005. "Josh and Nick have been playing music together for a long time. They're both amazing musicians, both have strong personalities," he says. "Sometimes, it doesn't work. I don't think it was the music that didn't work. It was personalities, situations and all that. I'm friends with Nick, Josh is friends with Nick. People want to create some kind of drama that's not there."

Dan appears in QOTSA "Little Sister" and "Long Slow Goodbye" videos.
