Damodaran M Vasudevan, fondly called Professor Vasudevan is presently the Dean of the College of Medicine at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and the Principal of the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Kochi, India.
After completing his MBBS, he did his MD in Biochemistry from AIIMS in 1971. Subsequently he also got his Ph.D. and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists in 1994.
He has been the Principal of Thrissur Medical College. After his retirement from there, he joined the Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore and the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences as the Dean in 2000. From 2002 he has been in the present position.
Apart from being an outstanding researcher, he is also highly acclaimed as a teacher and had also received the prestigious Dr. B C Roy Award for excellence in the teaching profession.
