Damian Manso (born 6 June 1979 in Rosario) is an Argentine footballer and current midfielder for LDU. He has passed through numerous club from a number of ranging countries, like France, Ecuador etc.[1] [2]. He is currently playing at Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito in Ecuador.

His internacional coverage came along with many of his fellow teamates extraordinary performance in the Copa Libertadores 2008 edition. Today he along with many of the teams current players are being seeked by clubs around the world.

He started his soccer career at 16 in 1996 with Newell's Old Boys in a game against the Boca Juniors. Despite playing for several other teams, Manso returned to play for Newell's Old Boys several times during his career and was a member of that team for nine years of his career.

Damian Manso made history being an important player by making a decisive goal and passes for his current club Liga deportiva universitaria of Ecuador, when for the first time in the club's history they reached the final of the Copa Libertadores. Third time for an Ecuadorian team since 1998, twice before by SC Barcelona.

It was the third time in the south american club competition history, that a club from four different countries reached the semi-final. It was also the second time in the Copa Libertadores history that the competition's final is disputed between two first time finalist since 1958. The previous being the first Copa Libertadores.

Damian Manso is an integral part of the team, making goals, creating play's and elusive passes which gave him a safe position as a premier for the team. His goal agaisnt respective rivals San Lorenzo in Casa Blanca stadium, was important by the fact that the game ended in a 1-1 draw which forced the club to dispute the pass to the semifinals by penalties. He also is the author of many plays that ended in decisive goals, during the Libertadores' competition. His team has had to topple world reknowned argentinian clubs, such as Arsenal, who they toppled on a 6-1 home victory, giving Manso his first goal in the competition. During his important participation in LDU during the Copa Libertadores 2008, Damian Manso was choosen as a participant in the ideal Copa Libertadores team, along with fellow playmates, Enrique Vera, and Joffre Guerrón, and along 6 other Argentinian players.
