The Citadel of Damascus (قلعة دمشق transliteration: Kala'at Dimashk) is located at the north west corner of Old Damascus, between Bab al-Faraj (Bab al-Manakhlieh) and Bab al-Nasr (current entrance to Souk al-Hamidiyya).

Multiple defensive structures where built in this site, one of them is the Seljuk citadel, which was built in 1078 A.D.

The current structure was built by al-Malek al-Adil (brother of Saladdin) in 1202 A.D
