I can certainly check for any errors in spelling, etc. but not on subject matter (simply because I'm not knowledgable in the subject). I think that it would be better if you learned the steps for uploading an image yourself, but I will be more than happy to help you out if you need it (go here to upload files). — ßottesiηi Tell me what's up 22:15, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you
Thank you for creating Masami Nagasawa's article! There are lots of articles I need in interwiki including Spanish language. I'd like you to create Kazuhide Uekusa's article in Spanish. He is an economist and professor at graduate school. 2 years ago, it was reported that he was arrested for peeping under a schoolgirl's skirt by the Japanese media. Being created his article in other languages is so interesting, I think. Would you receive my request, OK? --Hatto 02:11, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Juan Larrea Holguín
The problem with this article is that it has no information other than an interwiki link, and so is of no use in the English wikipedia. If you think that the article should be here, please add it after it has been translated into English, not before; otherwise, it will appear to be a blank article, which can confuse users. --ais523 16:40, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- For future reference, there is a page at which you can request the translation of an article: Wikipedia:Translation into English/Spanish. --ais523 16:45, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pedro Vicente Maldonado
I found a picture of the Colegio Nacional Maldonado in Riobamba and added it to the Pedro Vicente Maldonado article. I also added the picture to the Riobamba article. I found the picture on the article in the German Wikipedia. You may want to write an article on the college. •DanMS 18:17, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- P.S. I also added an article on Jorge Juan y Santacilia, which you might find interesting. •DanMS 18:19, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] René Zazzo
I'll get right on it! Joshua 08:01, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
I did some copyediting. I think that the original translator used a machine translator in order to get the job done, which resulted in a VERY STRANGE English version. Look over it again, and see if there're any changes you would make. I know very little about René Zazzo, and based most of my corrections & re-translations solely on the original French article. Good luck! Joshua 03:08, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Translation
You're welcome. I have the en/es translation page in my watchlist and will be glad to help in the future. Walter Bruch is a very interesting individual, by the way, it's strange he doesn't have a better article in German wp. I think the translated article can be very much improved by English native speakers and better sources than this difficult to find Salvat book. JRSP 00:46, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Image:Eugenioespejo2.jpg
Hi. Since your image is in the national galleries, although the creator is unknown, the (approximate) date should be known. From looking at the painting, I cannot tell the date, but I would not be surprised that it is old enough to well satisfy {{PD-Art}}
Also, unless you took the photo of the painting, you really should specify the source of the image (e.g. website you downloaded it from), and of course, include the approximate date it was created, if known. If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. -Seidenstud 03:41, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Eugenio Espejo
Further comments:
The Royal Audience - you need to explain what this is, or supply a link. Likewise, 'Enlightenment Spain'
'By his pseudonym, he wanted to establish that he had white or European relatives in his mother’s lineage.' Do you mean 'imply' he had white relatives. I don't see how a pseudonym can 'establish' anything much, as it is by definition false.
'and on 23 December, to die in his home place' - Do you know what he died of?
Character: 'denunciatory conscience' this is a very unusual phrase, and whilst I am in favour of colourful and descriptive language I'd want to be sure you mean that 'his conscience drove him to critiques of the establishment' or something of that nature.
'Espejo was a believing Catholic throughout his lifetime'. 'Believing Catholic' is not standard usage. Does this mean he was a 'practising Catholic' (i.e. that he regularly attended Mass) or that, whether or not he attended church, he never lost his faith? Suggest changing to either:
- 'Espejo was a practising Catholic throughout his lifetime' or
- 'Espejo never lost his faith in Catholicism'.
' anxious to reform a state that in every way seemed to be barbarian to him'. This is strong statement. In 'every' way? Later on you note that 'The Spanish Crown was deeply concerned with public health.'
Lawyer: 'It appears that it was more important to Espejo to attack his personal enemies' I think you mean 'It appears that his strategy in this case was to attack his personal enemies'. The way it is phrased suggests that he was more interested in attacking his enemies than in defending the clerics. (Which may have been true!)
Legacy: 'along with Pedro Vicente Maldonado, one of the most important scientists of colonial Ecuador' This should either be:
- 'along with Pedro Vicente Maldonado, one of the two most important scientists of colonial Ecuador' or
- 'along with others such as Pedro Vicente Maldonado, one of the most important scientists of colonial Ecuador'
I amended the capitalisation of El Retrato de Golilla which I noticed was inconsistent half way through. I don't speak Spanish (a good excuse) and checking all the others was a chore I did not complete.
Notes:
- (c) Is ' Navarrese' a word in English? It looks as if it could be 'Navarran'?
- The English in note (l) is poor, but I am afraid I don't know exactly what you mean, so I have not attempted to change it. Possibly 'In 1792, the Dominicans of the Convento Máximo de Quito published a series of theological theses. One of them stated that original sin was transmitted to every single descendant of Adam, without exception. As it never mentioned the subject of the Virgin Mary, it was rumoured that the Dominicans took the view that Mary was born with original sin. The Inspector denounced the thesis, and in face of the protest of the Dominicans, entrusted Espejo with…'
- I don't know what the last clause ' the letter to justify and explain himself' means at all. 'replying to the Dominican thesis and rebutting their ideas'?
Any amazing man and a fine article - would you intend to put him to the 'Enlightenment' template? Regards, Ben MacDui (Talk) 09:10, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] GA nomination for Eugenio Espejo
I reviewed Eugenio Espejo for WP:GA. I didn't pass the article, but I've left some suggestions on the talk page that I hope will be helpful to you. If you have any questions, let me know. - AdelaMae (t - c - wpn) 20:28, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Translation
I translated one of the paragraphs, I'll do the others soon (if I haven't by Monday, remind me, as I'm often forgetful). Be sure to check that everything makes sense though (I'm not sure if this part was correct: "and dominant groups of people began to enslave the indigenous population.") · AndonicO Talk 20:23, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- It was my pleasure. I'll look over it again a bit later, just to make sure everything is correct. · AndonicO Talk 11:47, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
-
- I have finished translating, however, I am not sure of this phrase: "por falta de caminos, las comunicaciones fueron limitadas". Does this refer to "caminos" as "road", or "monetary funds"? I translated it as the second, but the phrase makes sense both ways; please correct it if I was wrong.
- If there is anything else I may do to help, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Good luck with the GA nomination! · AndonicO Talk 13:37, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi Dalobuca,
You wrote:
*Many of the article's paragraphs are short - some are even one sentence long. These need to be combined with other paragraphs or expanded.
I am aware that you just did some small edits to the article, so I want to ask you a question: as copyeditor, do you think those problems have been dealed with? I'm asking because I would like to nominate the article again. Once again thank you for your help! --Dalobuca 14:29, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think that all of the sentences with odd conjunctions in them that were pointed out by the above reviewer have been fixed, yet. I also noticed strange "but," "thus," etc. claims
Yes, I do. I do not see any problem involving short paragraphs, and, on re-reading, I don't see any problem with conjunctions. I found the article to be clear and interesting. Good luck with your pursuit of GA status. Finetooth 04:17, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
