     The current alignment of the proposed Trinity Parkway, a US$691 million, 9 mile (14.5 km) roadway designed as part of the Trinity River Project, fell under scrutiny when officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reported that it might compromise the integrity of the eastern levee along the Trinity River. Concerns were voiced about whether or not the roadway was close enough to the levee's footprint to compromise its integrity. — (source: DMN)

     Teresa Parker, principal of Preston Hollow Elementary, was found to be violating the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment by segregating hallways and classes by ethnicity. Parents sued Parker and others administrators when they discovered their English-speaking Latino children were being placed in classes separate from white children. — (source: DMN)
