Dalocha (woreda)

Dalocha is one of the 77 woredas in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Gurage Zone, Dalocha is bordered on the south by the Kembata Alaba and Tembaro Zone, on the west by the Hadiya Zone, on the north by Silte, and on the east by Lanfro. Towns in Dalocha include Dalocha, Wulbareg and Mitto.

This woreda covers part of the homeland of the Silte people.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 175,916, of whom 88,627 were males and 87,289 were females; 14,785 or 8.40% of its population are urban dwellers, which is greater than the Zone average of 6.3%. With an estimated area of 718.75 square kilometers, Dalocha has an estimated population density of 244.8 people per square kilometer, which is less than the Zone average of 278.3.[1]
