Dallas School District

Dallas School District is a school district primarily located in Dallas in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania in the United States. The district includes the Dallas Elementary, Middle, and High schools, and the recently built Wycallis Elementary School. Before Wycallis was built, all of its students attended Westmoreland Elementary, located in Trucksville. The condition of Westmoreland's building was rapidly declining, so the district built a new elementary school, which was also closer to the others.
The school district itself includes the borough of Dallas, as well as Dallas, Franklin, and Kingston Townships. This is a majority of the area known as "The Back Mountain", and includes unincorporated villages such as Trucksville, Shavertown, and others.
The High School recently won a state championship in girl's soccer, the first ever in the district.
The Girls field hockey team has won the 2007 PIAA District 2 championship.
The school year for 2007-2008 starts September 4th (the day after Labor Day), and concludes on Friday, June 13.
