Dallam, Warrington

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dallam is a suburb of Warrington, England. It is home to a Royal Mail rail terminus on the main West Coast Main Line railway, opposite a large Eddie Stobart distribution centre. Considerably smaller than most suburbs of Warrington, Dallam along side its slightly larger neighbour Bewsey takes up a disproportionate amount of the crime section of the local newspaper, The Warington Guardian. This may have something to do with the insular nature Dallam has, due to its isolated location. It situated at the terminus of the Warrington Borough Transport number 16 route, and as the Bus passes the border of the Bewsey/Dallam DMZ at St Marks Church, the air of despair descneds on all non-residents entering the estate. Harrison Square is the local shopping plaza, where such retails gems as Tina's Mini Mart and the now defunct Warrington Angling are sited. For the connoseur, most things can be puchased at Harriosn Square although VAT receipts are not often offered. The social high-spot of the neighbourhood is the local Community House, where B.O. Burgers, Rola Cola and near date crisps are scoffed by the local MC stars who use the house to practice until they get their long awaited guest slot at MEDICENE, Warringtons number 1 happy hardcore nite spot. For foodies, the now defunct Greekies Chippy is the only real culinary spot Dallam used to be able to offer, but discount bags of 5Kg Chips are available from the local Spar Shop, and if the deep fat fryer is running dry Lard is also available in bulk next to the party packs of White Lightning and crates of carling.
