Born in the Punjab, Daljit Neer now lives in Leicester in the United Kingdom (UK) and plays a role in the bhangra market of the UK. He is also the founder of Neer Productions, which conducts talent searches in Leicester, provides singing lessons, and teaches the playing of Indian instruments.

Daljit Neer was a presenter for Leicester's local television station MATV Channel 6. Presenting shows such as Sanjha Panjab, Lok Virsa, MATV Live Talk, Aap Ki Mehfil and Ek Mulakat, he soon became a television personality who interviewed many popular people including Amir Khan, Dev Anand, Makit Singh, Gurdas Mann and many more.
Having been a presenter on the BBC Asian Network for a couple of years he returned to MATV on 4th December 2006. In June 2007, Daljit signed up to work for Raaj Radio to present a radio show.

Neer received formal musical training and guidance from his guru, the late Ustad Gamdoor Aman, in the Punjab. During this period he acquired knowledge of both bhangra and folk singing while still in his teens. Heavily influenced by musicians like Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan, Ustad Hussain Bux Gullo, Shaukat Ali, Sukhvinder Singh and Mohmammad Rafi, Neer was involved in creating stage shows for cultural, religious and festive purposes by his early twenties. During this time he sang and accompanied many celebrities of Punjabi folklore. Moving to England in the 80s gave Daljit Neer a chance to meet Shri Ramnik Varu from Leicester, who played a role in developing Daljit’s musical talent.
