Dalit Panthers of India

Dalit Panthers of India (DPI) or Viduthalai Siruthaigal (Tamil: விடுதலைச் சிறுத்தைகள்) is a people's movement and political party mainly based in Tamil Nadu. It advocates for the rights and welfare of Dalits. Its leader is Thol. Thirumavalavan. It has won two MLA seats in 2006 state assembly elections on its own in alliance with AIADMK.Now it is in the DMK front.It was recently involved in a controversy involving the south indian actress Kushboo .[1]
