Dalibor Bagarić (born February 7, 1980 in Munich, West Germany) is a professional basketball player from Croatia who formerly played for the NBA's Chicago Bulls from 2000 to 2003 and currently is a player of Fortitudo Bologna from Italy.
[edit] Basketball career
An agile 7’1” (216 cm) center, he had averaged 18.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game for the Croatian team Benston Zagreb before the Bulls selected him with the 24th pick in the 2000 NBA Draft. Unfortunately, Bagarić had great difficulty adjusting to the intensity of the NBA game. He never averaged more than 3.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game, and the arrival of Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler eventually pushed him out of the Bulls’ playing rotation.
He returned to Europe after the Bulls bought out his contract in 2003, and began playing for the Greek club Olympiacos. In 2004 he moved to Italian club Fortitudo Bologna. In the summer of 2006, he transferred to CB Girona of the Spanish ACB league. On September 2007 he returned to Fortitudo Bologna after signing on a one year contract[1]. He refused to join the Croatian national team on Eurobasket 2007 because of a conflict with national coach Jasmin Repeša. Dalibor has been in conflict with Repeša since Summer 2006, when he left the preparation camp on his own hand[2].
