Dale Layer

Dale Layer (born 1958) is a former head men's basketball coach at Colorado State University. Layer was named the Rams' head basketball coach on April 11, 2000, replacing Ritchie McKay who left to take the vacant head coaching job at Oregon State. Layer led Colorado State to the NCAA Tournament in 2003 in just his third season at the helm, quicker than any coach in school history with the exception of Boyd Grant.

Layer was fired by Colorado State on March 12th, 2007. His career record at Colorado State was 103-106, but was only 31-71 in conference play. He was hired by Ritchie McKay on April 2nd, 2007 as an assistant coach at Liberty University.
