Dale Groutage

Dale Groutage (b. 1944) is an engineer who unsuccessfully ran in 2006 as the Democratic nominee for the United States Senate in Wyoming against incumbent Senator Craig Thomas [1]. For details on the race, see Wyoming United States Senate election, 2006.

Groutage received a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, and a Ph.D in science and engineering from the University of Wyoming [1].

During the Cold War, Groutage led several teams of U.S. scientists in the Navy, Air Force and Army, developing weapons systems and nuclear submarines [1]. In 2001, he was named by the National Society of Professional Engineers as one of the top ten engineers in the federal government [1].
