Dalbergia cearensis, a smallish tree restricted to a small area in Brazil. It is also known as Kingwood and is a classic furniture wood, almost exclusively used for inlays on very fine furniture and in billiard cues, e.g., John Parris. It is purple with many fine darker stripes. Other woods yielded by the same genus are cocobolo, rosewood, tulipwood.
