[edit] References on Akron Aeros
Thanks for your attention to the Akron Aeros article. However, when I marked the article as unreferenced, I was looking for the addition of either a References or Footnotes section. Including reference information in one of these sections gives readers more information about the sources used and places it in an area where most readers will be looking for such information. (See WP:CITE for further info on citation.) So, while I appreciate the effort, I would like to work with you to improve the citation in the article. How about it? -- backburner001 15:14, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] References on fielder's choice
Not entirely convinced, unless you are saying this runner is simply put out by the catcher in the failed attempt to advance a base on the wild pitch/passed ball, but I won't get into a Wiki-war about it. BudMann9 16:49, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Right. It's true that it's not counted as a caught stealing, but an FC is used to describe a batter's or runner's advance, not a type of out. Your point is good, but it would belong on the stolen base article (if it's not there already).
[edit] Three home runs
Took seven minutes for me to create the page (MLB players with three home runs in one game), I hadn't even typed three names yet, and someone nominated it for deletion as useless trivia. I tried to route them to the golden sombrero discussion, but who knows whether anyone will pay attention. I'm not gonna bother typing 400+ players in here until we decide we actually want the list. Dakern74 21:15, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- LOL! I assume you mean MLB hitters with three home runs in one game. You'd better create that outside of the main article space. Either in User:Dakern74/MLB hitters with three home runs in one game or on your computer or whatever. Questions though: why do you have that only 15 hitters have hit three in a game? And what's with the note at the bottom that some of them are cool? —Wknight94 (talk) 21:20, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ahhh, I didn't notice that you were the same person. As far as specific citations, they may not be necessary since it's not really a contentious issue. I'll read more closely in a bit. —Wknight94 (talk) 21:42, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that's a valid point about WikiBooks. I haven't investigated that much but anything in an instructional vein is supposed to be over there instead. —Wknight94 (talk) 23:09, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New baseball article improvement drive
[edit] South Park WikiProject
I have thought of creating a WikiProject for South Park since it is now near its' 10th anniversary and has more articles than ever. I feel we could all do the following things through this project:
- Cleanup any short/poorly written/unformatted articles
- Merge/lengthen the many character articles
- Improve the South Park main page
I have seen your South Park fan template and wondered if you were interested in joining. If so reply to my talk page and I'll get back to you as quick as I can. Thanks, Mr. Garrison
[edit] WikiProject South Park page
We have our own page! Wikipedia:WikiProject South Park. Be sure to list your name in the members section. Mr. Garrison 18:32, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] barry bonds
your advice will be taken on the "("Bonds (who is black) yadda yadda Giambi (who is white)")" I thought though stating his race is important in the same way that stating Jackie Robinson's race is important. GrandWizard 05:29, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Baseball
Hi how are you? Okay I think I can tag some statements with citation needed template. Give me 4 hours because I am pretty busy right now. Cheers -- Imoeng 07:35, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- Oh no, so which article should I review? Ahahahh. Just tell me, I can review one more article. Cheers -- Imoeng 08:06, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
So here it is. Ahahaha, I will just list some possible improvements.
- Still, inline citations, you have known how to put it right? So there will be no problem. Just follow WP:CITET and you will be fine :D.
- The most common format of articles is to put one suitable image besides the lead section. In this case, because I do not know much about it, probably you could put a baseball player or a scoreboard.
- I noticed you use (See also: baseball positions). You can put it with {{See also|Baseball positions}}.
- There is a subheading titled misc and trivia. If it is really a trivia section, I would have put it at the bottom, before Totalling the scoreboard, which I reckon is more important.
- Some more images could be useful, beside to illustrate the subject matter, images can also lightened up the article.
Honestly, it will pass WP:GA soon, I am sure about that. If you have some other questions, don't hesitate to ask me. Cheers -- Imoeng 09:00, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WP:WPBBQ
Your answer of Bobo Newsom was correct. You now have 24 hours to post a question under the heading Q2. You can ask any question you want, provided it's baseball-related. Happy editing, ςפקιДИτς ☺ ☻ 00:46, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New Britain Stadium
I see you did some good editing on article about the New Britain Stadium, located in Willow Brook Park, New Britain, Connecticut. An interesting historical footnote is that Willow Brook Park is the site of the first scheduled game of the New York Football Giants in 1925 - I have an article about it on my website. I didn't know if it would be appropriate to mention this in the stadium article. Revmoran 14:45, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 2006 Chick-fil-A Bowl
For the past month, I've been working on the 2006 Chick-fil-A Bowl article. I've brought it up to GA status and am now working on making it a featured article. Since you're a Hokie, and the article deals with the Virginia Tech football team, I'd really appreciate it if you could take a swing by the nomination and leave any suggestions or support you might have. Thanks! JKBrooks85 03:28, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Baseball scorekeeping
I noticed your revised edition of Baseball scorekeeping, I have skimmed through it and although there are a few parts that need a bit more encyclopedic, it is a great improvement of the current article. If there is anything that you would like me to revise or improve, I would love to. I have kept score of every pro-baseball game I've been to (unfortunately for me the Pirates lost most of them), and am very interested in the topic of scorekeeping. There is a book that I found at my local library called The Joy of Scorekeeping, I read it a few years ago and have forgotten most of it, but I do remember giving a good history of scorekeeping, which could be used for citations if needed. You can reply on my talk page if you need anything. Thanks! Blackngold29 (talk) 20:17, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
