Dakabin State High School is the largest educational institute within the area, educating approximately 1,100 students every year ranging from grades 8 to 12. The large school contains many single-level buildings for different allocated subjects, and maintains a vast area of farmland to breed its award-winning cattle. The school also has a well trusted and hard working staff consisting of Mrs Somerville, Mr McPherson, Ms Hay, Miss G, Mr Close and the many other teachers, staff and volunteers who make the school what it is - like Mr McPherson, the well loved, and recognised teacher who makes a difference.[citation needed]
