[[---- Woa wait a minute ! If you are going to name daisy dukes as only the shorts and not the pantyhose underneath like Jessica Simpson DID NOT WEAR - your definition is way off. Dallllisy Dukes in my mind will always be associated with their original wearer - Catherine Bach who wore pantyhose under those sexy shorts in every episode. Daisy Dukes, are tan or suntan pantyhose underneath short form fitting denim cut-offs. I go back to the history of the term as the foundation of the definition - not that it's incorrect for words to change meanings- but how many hours in episodes did Catherine Bach make wearing that amazing outfit vs. how many hours in movie time where Jessia Simpson wears only the shorts? History and numbers are my basis for the original and correct definition]] of the term. Without the pantyhose, your just wearing short denim cut-offs. By the way the term "daisy dukes" was coined a long time before Duice, and Jessica Simpson came onto the scene. (like 20 years prior.)"

[edit] Duice and Dukes

I have once again removed the speculatory statements made about whether the term would have remained without the Duice song. I can attest that the term has been in constant use since soon after the show aired, with no lapses (though the actual wearing of said shorts has waxed and waned). This article is not a place for Duice fanboyism. Just the facts, ma'am. --Darksasami 17:58, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Okay, it's almost October now and I'm still removing the same crap from the same guy from this article. It's always the same--unsourced speculation that the song introduced the fashion to an entire generation, despite the fact that the show was barely ten years gone. Because of this bozo, I am stuck having an article about ridiculous short shorts on my watchlist. Aargh. --Darksasami 00:58, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] De-stubbed

This article appears to be of an appropriate length for the subject matter under discussion. It is also appropriately categorized and wikified.

By nature, stubbing and tagging articles devalues them, giving them an aura of unreliability and making them seem less credible. As part of my personal campaign to free up articles that have been stubbed and tagged without cause, this article has been disenstubified.

If any editor disagrees, and would rather re-stub it than improve it by adding actual content, please discuss here. The Editrix 20:57, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm teetering on disagreeing, but it's not that strong. One thing that helps is that it does actually have a photo. Things that could be added to improve the article include:
  • Popular culture references such as the 69 Boyz song...
  • Images of Daisy Dukes being worn by others, especially non-celebrities and those not related with the Daisy Duke character
  • Accounts of the complaints that are referred to in the external links (one of the links is broken temporarily)
Maybe someone who is interested in this can work on this? I have a backlog of things to get to when I get some more free time, but I'll perhaps add this (near the bottom, lol). WDavis1911 (talk) 06:51, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
