Civil war era bonsai from the Golden State Bonsai Federation's Collection-North in Oakland, California. It is an informal upright style Daimyo Oak (Quercus dentata), donated by Dr. Robert Gotcher. The tree was a gift to the United States envoy to China, Mr. Burlingame, in 1863.
