Dainfern is a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is located in Region 1 and Region 5. Dainfern is beween Johannesburg and Pretoria, the Capital.

Dainfern is sub divided in several "Villages" as it is quite vast. Among these are Sherwood and Highgate. It is an enclosed housing area. A lot of the property is covered in a golf range, which is well cared for despite South Africa's generally dry climate. There are separate urbanizations next to Dainfern, but they are smaller. These are Dainfern Ridge and Dainfern Valley. Dainfern has a school called "Dainfern College" that includes secondary and primary schooling. Most of the inhabitants of Dainfern send their children to this school.

In 1986 JCI purchased the company Dainfern Investments (Pty) Ltd and submitted an application for a township to be known as "Dainfern".The Dainfern Estate is bounded by the PWV5 to the north and west, by Dainfern Valley and Dainfern College to the east and south-east, and by Broadacres Agricultural Holdings to the south.

The Dainfern Township was proclaimed in 1992 and has an area of 320 ha which includes the Gary Player designed golf course, which is 81,9265 ha in extent. Dainfern is 14 years old and is one of the first residential golfing estates in South Africa. In keeping with our mission statement, offering residents a secure lifestyle with exclusive recreational facilities, we have set high standards which we are continuously reviewing and upgrading.

The Estate is divided into villages of various sizes and will total 1230 homes on completion. At present 1202 homes have been constructed with a further 28 to be completed. Houses range from 450sqm to in excess of 800sqm and are sited on erven which range from 790sqm to 1600sqm. All building plans are scrutinised by an Architectural

Review Committee (ARC) with new projects, and renovations strictly monitored by the Building Control function. Contractors are required to adhere to stringent building standards during the construction phase.

The maintenance and enhancement of the quality of the living environment is essential in projecting Dainfern as "The Premier Residential Golf Estate" The exclusivity of Dainfern is its core concept which attracts potential buyers and residents. It is also the factor which will maintain and enhance property values. In order to maintain this exclusivity, it is important to have an Estate that has a high quality residential environment maintained by a company who has the same values Dainfern has. The outsourced provider has a staff compliment in excess of 50 people operating high quality state of the art equipment.

When purchasing a house or acquiring golf membership, one automatically becomes a member of the Dainfern Country Club. The Country Club consists of a modern up market clubhouse with function rooms, a member's bar, and a Halfway House restaurant. Panoramic views from the terrace overlook the golf course and the Jukskei River.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served every day (except for Mondays) and our most popular evening is Wednesday night's “Chef's Choice” to which members can bring their families for a light supper and entertainment. This event is restricted to members only and booking is essential.

Adjacent to the Clubhouse is a swimming pool, tennis court and two squash courts. The Pavilion, situated in the north eastern village, consists of a multipurpose Oval with a small Clubhouse, three tennis courts, a swimming pool and a Volley Ball court. Soccer and communal functions are catered for here such as the annual Family Fun Day.
