Dai Nippon Butoku Kai

In 1895, with the sanction of the Emperor Meiji, the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai (Kyūjitai: 大日本武德會; Shinjitai: 大日本武徳会?) was established. Its sole purpose was to standardize, promote, and preserve all of the various Japanese martial arts.
