Dahisar - Last railway stop on western side of Mumbai muncipal limits. Predominated by Marathis followed by Gujarathis. Quiet and lay back suburb compared to its more crowded and busy neighbour - Borivli.

[edit] Rewrite needed

At first, I thought this article was on a railway stop, as indicated by the first graf. However, it looks as if Dahisar is some sort of suburb/village. The article should mention this first (with whatever official designation [suburb of Mumbai?]), not the railway stop. BuddingJournalist 07:52, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

ADDITION:-

Dahisar is also going to attach to suburb borivali by linking road towards west side and towards east same linking road will join Toll Naka. Dahisar is vary peaceful area. Firstly in west there was nothing much but salt pans, but in west due to creek cost here used to be horse riding and shooting used to go on for various hindi films. In dahisar west,Kandarpada there is old temple called gaondevi temple and this temlpe has stairway on which shooting of one sequence from hindi film dewaar was done along with some other films!! also there are few more temples a beautiful small ganesh temple near dahisar bridge and Vitthal Rakhumai temple in east which is duplex temple and highest donations for this temple is over 50 Lakhs!! Earlier before 1975's there was no development in west except what mentioned earlier and in east there was only one way SV Road to connect to borivali. And that was too a boulavord! Dahisar east's oldest society is Shailendra Nagar which now has school and junior college for science. From shailendra nagar Dahisar stn and the Gaondevi temple used to see because there were no tall buildings but trees only. But now it is not possible to see SV Road which touches Shailendra nagar due to increased towers. Dahisar west has some typical spots for young people to chill or freak out including The rock gardens in IC extention,Linking road,Dahisar bridge etc. Dahisar west now lacks a theatere and auditorium,a decent playground,a hospital, a mall. Now Dahisar east has ajogger's park in NL Complex near Anand Nagar which is open for all. To summerise Dahisar is good place to stay which is less polluted suberb and is developing.
