Dagon (2) High School, Yangon was founded in 1929 when national schools opened across Myanmar during British Empire period. U Ba Lwin controlled since the school was born until 1953. As it was named Myoma Kyaung in a few decades ago, it became popular among Yangon. The school turned to be semi-comprehensive (where families of students made large donation for school's advanced care system), though it referred as a formal Basic Education High School.

The school also has link in ASEAN SchoolNet Project which shares in ICT-based education.
