Dago (comics)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dago is a comics character created in 1983 by Paraguayan writer Robin Wood and Argentine artist Alberto Salinas, for the Italian magazine Lanciostory. In 1996 Salinas was replaced by Carlos Gómez to draw the monthly series. The stories have been also published in most South American countries, as well as in Spain.

Dago tells about a 16th century Venetian nobleman who, after being betrayed by his best friend, turns himself into a mercenary. He takes part in the Sack of Rome (1527) and, after obtaining his revenge, continues to travel around Europe, Africa and Asia, meeting several famous characters of history, but always living a solitary life.
