Daggubati Purandareswari (born 22 April 1959) is a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. She represents the Bapatla constituency of Andhra Pradesh and is a member of the Indian National Congress. She is also the daughter N.T. Rama Rao, actor and founder of the Telugu Desam political party. She did Bachelor of Arts from South Indian Educational Trust and Women College (Chennai), followed by a short course in gemmology at the Gemmological Institute of India.
She is Minister of State in the Ministry of Human Resource Development. She is notorious for relaying to Rajya Sabha members a host of unsubstantiated and inflated figures about Indian professionals in USA. [1]
