Dagenham and Rainham will be a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It will elect one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.
Following their review of parliamentary representation in North London, the Boundary Commission for England have created a new constituency of Dagenham and Rainham.
This seat should not be confused with the new creation of Gillingham and Rainham, which is in Kent.
The BNP are a strong and growing political force in this seat. Whilst Labour's historic stranglehold on Dagenham politics appears to be in free fall.
