Dafni Bokota was born in Koukaki, in 1960. She is a respected spokeswoman of the greek national television, ERT. She studied English literature and while working in ERT she published one LP with her own compositions. The title of the record was Dafni Bokota kai Saboter and the singles Diva and Viper Nora were hits. Dafni had tried to repredent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1984 with her song Rapounzel. Dafni is best known for presenting the Eurovision Song Contest for ERT from 1987 until 2004. In 2005 she was said that she was no longer needed and the Swedish born reporter Alexandra Pashalidou was brought in her place. Dafni felt shocked and this was a great scandal not only for the Greek media, but also for the greek parliament. After that she published a book with her memories on the Contest, which made it to second edition. Dafni is married and has a 10 year old son. She is involved in the politics, while in 2003-04 she was a judge in the famous tv show Fame Story.
