Daedalus Publishing

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daedalus Publishing is based in Los Angeles, California and is dedicated to creating intelligent publications for erotic adventurers. Subjects range from leathersex to a myriad of alternative sexual practices, such as BDSM. Daedalus originated in San Francisco, California in 1992, founded by Race Bannon (who also founded the free Kink Aware Professionals referrals service).

The inaugural title, Learning the Ropes: A Guide to Safe and Fun S/M Lovemaking was written by Bannon himself in 1992, followed shortly thereafter by Ties That Bind and The Leather Contest Guide by Guy Baldwin. Early books were by and about gay men and were also mostly educational in nature, but later started to include general BDSM topics and fictional material. Another well known title for this publisher is Consensual Sadomasochism : How to Talk About It and How to Do It Safely by William A. Henkin and Sybil Holiday, which was first published in 1996, and has recently been released as a second edition.

In 2001 the company was acquired by Stockroom.com and relocated to Los Angeles.

Daedalus Publishing Company's most recent releases include Fetish Sex by Violet Blue, and Wild Side Sex by Midori.
