Because I think that it is a personal hypothesis loosely based on a single genetic study, and thus is not fit for an encyclopedia:

The new DAB1 mutation seen in the chinese might very well by an alternative way in producing high intelligence in relation to language, creativity ect. The DAB1 seems to be a somewhat more modern gene of selection in an evolutionary perspective than that of ASPM. Comparative ortholog data accessed from genecard indicate that evolution in the DAB1 gene is a "newer" way to shape brain and intelligence than is ASPM. ASPM is showing strong selection in the lineage from dog to chimpanzee whereas the selection in DAB1 is more specific to humans only. The chinese population has aqquired (selected) a new radically changed non synonymous variant of the DAB1 (rs17117720) This new variant exists at a frequency of about 0,30 pct. in chinese and japanese in a heterozygotic state and 4 pct. in a homozygotic. The The west europeans has this variant in a frequency of about 2 pct. and in the african population tested it was totally absent. This new variant of DAB1 could very probably be a newer booster of higher cognition and brain evolution in the chinese people and thus responsible for the very advanced civilization, science and culture made by china throughout the history of modern man.
