Talk:D class lifeboat

[edit] Incomprehensible statement

I've removed the following statement from this article:

Also the D-class is used in the RNLI's rapid response unit which use old D-class which have been retired to the relief fleet and after the crisis is over are turn over to that nation's government.

because it makes no sense. What crisis?. What nation's government?. At best the statement is missing sufficient context to make it sensible; at worst it is vandalism. -- Chris j wood 13:14, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Purple prose

I've also deleted:

They are a common sight around the coasts of the UK and Ireland, and are strategically placed at key stations where their infiltrating nature can act as supplementary inshore support for the more unwieldy all-weather lifeboats or as solitary liberators of crowded shorelines.

Err, we are talking about a lifeboat here, not a special forces task force. Lifeboat's don't infiltrate or liberate!. I've tried copy editing it to remove this purple prose, but I don't seem to end up with anything worth saying. Any other editor want to try, be my guest. -- Chris j wood 13:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
