D'Hanis, Texas

D'Hanis is a small unincorporated community in central Medina County, Texas, United States. It is located at the intersections of U.S. Route 90, Farm to Market Road 1796 and Farm to Market Road 2200 on the Seco Creek. D'Hanis is also know for its red colored bricks that are made at a brick yard there. A historical landmark that is a tourist attraction is the ruins of the old St. Dominic's church. D'Hanis was the third settlement founded by Henry Castro, and settled by nine Alsatian families in 1847.
It is home to the D'Hanis Cowboys. The D'Hanis Independent School District serves area students.
